Action Research and Outcomes
Continuously evaluating results, redefining goals, and revising designs for learning is WIDE World’s recipe for impact. Our evaluation team applies this process to monitoring the quality and impact of our programs. We survey participants before and at the end of every online course in addition to the ongoing review that coaches conduct during the course. As part of your involvement with WIDE World, you will receive information about course completion, participant satisfaction, and near-term outcomes. As a special service, WIDE World’s research team may consult with your staff to design an evaluation plan specific to your school system.
We also help school systems develop capacity to conduct action research on their instructional improvement efforts. WIDE World’s courses on Action Research guide teams of educators to formulate their own research questions, gather and analyze appropriate data, and interpret results to document impact and generate recommendations for next steps in their systemic improvement plan. In collaboration with several long-term clients, WIDE World is conducting action research on the process and effects of systemic school improvement supported by online professional development. The results of this research will generate instruments, methods, and findings to guide other organizations committed to systemic improvement.
