Data Driven Instructional Improvement

This two-course program is designed to help teachers and educational leaders use data more effectively to improve instruction. Participants take the Data Wise course (DW) to learn how to evaluate and interpret student data. Teachers take the Teaching for Understanding 1 (TfU1) course and educational leaders take the Leading for Understanding I (LfU1) course.

TfU1 and LfU1 introduce participants to the Teaching for Understanding framework as they clarify educational goals, link student work to experience, design instructional units, and develop effective assessment practices.

By combining the TfU1 and/or LfU1 courses with Data Wise, participants learn how to design and deliver data-driven instructional change.

These are suggested course patterns. We advise working with a WIDE Educational Planner to customize a program that best meets the needs of your school, district, or system. Contact us to learn more.
