Introduction
This course will introduce participants to Teaching for Understanding ideas and how to use the Teaching for Understanding and the Dreams Frameworks to develop a Coaching Plan focused on the pedagogical concepts you want to coach.

You will learn how to use various F2F coaching techniques, and you will have the opportunity to reflect on the core purposes of your F2F coaching program within your school so that these purposes can be used to guide its implementation.

We will consider some of the learning opportunities a face-to-face coach is likely to facilitate and we will look at some protocols which can be used to increase the likelihood that those encounters will be centered on the development of understanding.

The questions we will explore during the course are:

• How can I apply the Teaching for Understanding Framework, appropriate facilitation strategies, and other tools, to support my work as a face-to-face coach?
• How can I anticipate and meet the demands, challenges, and responsibilities of coaching colleagues or other educator face-to-face?
• How can I participate in and encourage the development of a collegial learning community in my school?

• How to use the Teaching for Understanding or the Dreams Frameworks to design a Coaching Plan.

• How to use protocols and other tools to support teachers and help them develop a deeper understanding of pedagogical ideas.

• How to work towards the development of a culture of understanding, engaging colleagues in collaborative inquiry to improve learning.
