During this course, you will learn how to use the Teaching for Understanding Framework to focus curriculum, assessment, and technology on improving student participation and enhancing outcomes.  In collaboration with fellow educators, a coach, and an instructor, you will create a classroom unit that integrates your own standards and technology resources. You will discuss different ways technology can be used to successfully support student understanding.

The core questions we will investigate during this course are:

• How can we use the Teaching for Understanding Framework to develop curriculum that supports student understanding?
• How can we incorporate available technologies into this curriculum to enhance the learning experience?
• How can we create and sustain an online community to support our developing understanding?

To answer these, we will:

• Explore the Teaching for Understanding Framework and its implications
• Discuss the different ways technology can be used to support student understanding
• Show you how to create a classroom unit that incorporates Teaching for Understanding and new and available technologies
• Collaborate with other educators to compare effective classroom strategies
