WIDE Action Research

WIDE’s Action Research Seminar introduces educators to the process of action research as a means for promoting school improvement. This course helps educators document and evaluate professional development structured by the Teaching for Understanding framework in their schools. Participants learn about the purposes of collaborative action research and how to work effectively as part of a team. They learn how to define research goals and questions, choose participants, select appropriate methods for gathering and analyzing data, and present research findings for different audiences.

Participants practice these components of the research process while developing an Action Research Design that is suited to the priorities, resources, and constraints of their own situation. An online coach supports the process of collaborative action research and provides feedback as each team constructs an Action Research Design.
